(Montpelier) – Saint Albans mayor Elizabeth Gamache will moderate a panel discussion on Successful Reentry for Women in Corrections Wednesday evening, October 8th, 5:30 - 7:00 pm in Council Chambers at St. Albans City Hall.
This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Vermont Commission on Women (VCW). The panel will feature area experts addressing issues in probation and parole; health, mental health and drug addiction; education and employment training; mentoring and community support; housing and child custody. Join with others in your community to learn, share thoughts, and shape the work of those providing support to local women building better lives and better relationships with family, children and the Saint Albans community as a whole.
The Commission will share findings from this forum with the legislature, policy makers, and various state and community organizations with the goal of creating a correctional system that is more responsive to the unique needs of the women.
