June 2021 | Leaders For Equity & Equal Pay Toolkit Launch Event
In June of 2021 Change The Story VT, the partnership initiative of Vermont Works for Women, Vermont Commission on Women, and the Vermont Women's Fund, launched the Leaders for Equity and Equal Pay (LEEP) Toolkit. Created by Sadowski Consulting Services in partnership with Change The Story VT, the Toolkit is a free resource to empower small to mid-size employers (any organization with under 400 employees) with what they need to conduct in-house, DIY gender and racial pay equity reviews. Over 350 registered for this virtual event, and participants received a quick overview of Toolkit components, learned from a national pay equity expert, and were inspired by employers who have implemented these workplace pay equity practices.
VCW started the 2021 legislative session with a public event examining how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted economic aspects of women’s lives, especially for women of color in Vermont. The virtual event featured a panel discussion with experts, an exploration of issues in small breakout room conversations, and a wrap up Q & A session. Our panelists were VCW Commissioner Kiah Morris, Executive Director of Mercy Connections Lisa Falcone, and UVM Professor of Economics Stephanie Seguino.
Our Vermont Equal Pay Compact signers were cordially invited to this special event in March 2020 – a quick pivot from live to virtual event in response to the pandemic shutdowns that week.
January 2020 | Workplaces For All
VCW launched Workplaces For All in January 2020, a campaign and website resource to help employers, workers, and all Vermonters address sexual harassment and workplace discrimination.
